Pain Management Seminar (4 CME)

Gaps in the quality of pain care delivery reflect: problems related to health care professionals and problems related to the health care system.

These include out-of-date or inadequate attitudes and knowledge, e.g., mistaken ideas, incomplete, sporadic, or nonstandard pain assessment and low priority given to pain control education for health professionals. This course is intended to cover all these gaps for optimum health development.

Participation in continuing professional development (in formal and informal contexts) is an important component of clinical practice. Engagement in pain education must extend beyond entry level to a profession to build and maintain professional expertise. 

The pain competencies provide a useful framework for continuing professional development for pain educators and clinicians.
