This safety training is designed to define Lockout/Tag out responsibilities, acceptable practices, and procedures with respect to safety and compliance.
Objective
This course is designed for all employees and guests who work on or near equipment in which the unexpected energizing or start up of the machines or equipment, or release of stored energy could cause injury to employees above human vulnerability limits. This includes all the servicing, maintenance, modification, calibration, and repair functions.
This standard establishes minimum performance requirements for the control of such hazardous energy. The information covered in this session includes the steps in the Lock-Out/Tag-Out and the affected employee's part in the procedure. Also, you'll be provided with information on the locks and tags that are used.
- Authorized employees must receive training on the recognition of applicable hazardous energy sources, the methods and means necessary for energy isolation and control.
- Other employees (those whose work activities are or may be in an area where energy control procedures may be utilized)must be instructed about the procedure and about the prohibition relating to attempts to restart or re-energize machines or equipment that are locked out or tagged out

Assessment: Students are assessed throughout the course by the instructor.
Observation: Before and after written assessment/exam will be conducted.
Certificate: NAJMA certificate of attendance, valid for 2 years, issued on completion of the assessment.
