Who is this Qualification for?
This qualification is aimed at providing candidates with the necessary knowledge, understanding and skills to support first aid and the use of a defibrillator in the workplace.
First Aid at Work is an ideal qualification for individuals that will be taking a lead First Aid role during an emergency. This course includes the emergency action for adult, child and infant CPR and choking.
How long will it take?
To complete this qualification learners should expect to undertake approximately 19 hours of learning.
Topics Covered:
Qualification content includes: roles and responsibilities of a first aider, assessing incidents, managing causalities who are: unresponsive and not breathing, managing casualties in shock, administering first aid to causalities with suspected: head, spinal, chest injuries, with burns, scalds, eye injuries, and those suffering from sudden poisoning and anaphylaxis, as well as knowing how to safely use an automated external defibrillator.
Assessment Method
This qualification is assessed by practical and knowledge assessments.
