French Language Course Outline:

• Lesson 1: The alphabet and personal/basic greetings.
• Lesson 2: Introductions – how to ask and say name, surname, where one lives, what one studies and does for living.
• Lesson 3: Introducing someone else: what he/she studies, does for living, lives, name and surname
• Lesson 4: Numbers (1-10,000) – asking for and reading out a telephone number
• Lesson 5: Use of masculine and feminine for nationalities
• Lesson 6: Writing postcards and letters in French; addresses and city/country of residence
• Lesson 7: Verbs “être” and “avoir” – differences
• Lesson 8: Family: members of the family (mother, father, cousin, grandparents, etc)
• Lesson 9: Physical descriptions
• Lesson 10: Formal and Informal: “tu” and “vous”
• Lesson 11: Use of “there is, there are” (Il y a) – naming objects
• Lesson 12: How to say “how much is something”, use of “how many”/”how much” (combien)
• Lesson 13: In a restaurant. How to order food and drinks
• Lesson 14: French cities and towns – maps
• Lesson 15: Buying from a supermarket or a shop
• Lesson 16: How to book a room in a hotel and check-in
• Lesson 17: Prepositions – where things are in the room or in the house
• Lesson 18: Body parts Lesson 19: Months of the year, days of the week
