The main challenge of developing a sound master plan is to achieve a flexible, expandable and modular design to react to changes in terms of demand or airline requirements.
A master plan is linked with the airport’s business plan and can be a powerful communication instrument for the involved shareholders and stakeholders. It defines a set of commonly agreed principles by which future development will be brought forward.
